Payroll Specialist
Ellenton, Florida - E-Verify | Full Time Human Resources & Administration — PayrollReview and data entry of salaried employee payroll/deduction changes of lower to moderate volume and complexity, in support of the Company’s corporate operations. Preparation/ summarization of payroll data for periodic filings and deposits/payments of payroll taxes and other payroll deductions, and maintenance of payroll-related liability general ledger accounts. Experience with UKG Pro and UKG Pro Workforce Management is desired.
Essential Functions
- Review, audit, and input additions, terminations, and approved changes in employee salaries & wage rates, direct deposit information, home/mailing addresses, tax withholding elections, and other payroll deductions for assigned weekly and biweekly payrolls.
- Perform detailed quality control reviews of payroll edits and other reports to insure 100% accuracy of assigned payroll(s).
- Handle relevant assigned customer service calls, requests, inquiries from employees, operations staff, or outside vendors, taxing authorities, and provide timely, accurate and professional assistance.
- Compile and summarize payroll data in support of periodic filings and deposits and/or payments of payroll taxes, 401K contributions, and other payroll deductions such as union dues/contributions, garnishments, etc.
- Monitor and periodically reconcile GL liability accounts for payroll taxes and other payroll-related deductions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll information at all times and immediately report any misuse or improper communication of payroll information to unauthorized individuals within or outside the company to the Manager of Payroll Services and/or VP, Human Resources.
- Other related duties and backup assignments as required.
- High School (or equivalent) diploma required, with an associate or bachelor's degree or relevant college coursework in accounting or business preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in payroll.
- Proficiency with UKG Pro, UKG Pro Workforce Management is needed. Proficiency with Lawson and Kronos systems is desired.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, Word and Outlook and Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Strong data entry skills and attention to detail/accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills are essential, along with a positive, professional demeanor.
